Authorities allege the defendants targeted a 13-year-old girl, coercing her into prostitution and subjecting her to repeated sexual abuse. Defendants Charged
The defendants identified by prosecutors are:
Mickael Derius, 30, of Newark
Terry D. Nero, 44, of Elizabeth
Jonathan C. Ramirez, 29, of East Orange
Each man faces multiple felony charges, including human trafficking of a minor, sexual assault, and production of child sexual abuse material.
Allegations and Investigation
According to investigators, the defendants allegedly worked together to exploit the victim, transporting her across different locations and facilitating acts of sexual abuse for profit. Law enforcement agencies were able to identify and locate the victim during the investigation and subsequently charge the suspects.
State officials emphasized that crimes involving the exploitation of children are treated with the highest priority and carry severe penalties under New Jersey law.
